Cowhide Rug
Lasso a Cowhide Rug for Instant Cowboy attitude
Nothing says rustic as much as a cowhide rug. Well, maybe a Bear rug, but other than that, cowhide rugs are the way to go when you're trying to give a room a little bit of Cowboy flair.
Don't think you have to stick with a Western theme to use a rug make out of cowhide. A cowhide area rug also works well in a modern room with gallery art.
Cowhide area rugs can get big. Extra large cowhides can be found at 40 to 50 square feet. That's a lot of beef, huh? That size cowhide should be plenty of area rug for a large space. The problem you're going to have it picking which color cowhide to bring home.
Popular color schemes include:
- Black and white
- Brown and white
- Tri Color
- Brindle (mostly different shades of brown with white legs)
If you have a flair for the exotic, the exotic animal that is, you can find cowhide area rugs that have been printed to look like zebra skin rugs, tiger skin rugs, even cheetah skin rugs. Imagine what a set of area rugs like this would look over your limestone floors in your foyer?
The problem with buying a cowhide area rug is that they feel so good, everybody will want to sit on the rugs so that they can run their fingers through the cowhide. Now if you could just convince your family that the spot on the top of the mantle is crying out for a jackalope skull!
